Ethylcellulose nanoparticles prepared from nano-emulsion templates as new folate binding haemocompatible platforms

Ethylcellulose is a biocompatible polymer attracting increasing interest for biomedical applications. In the present work, formation of folate-ethylcellulose nanoparticle complexes from nano-emulsion templates prepared by low-energy approach, using aqueous components suitable applications has been investigated. The composition component shown to be crucial stable nano-emulsions and influences zeta potential values. ethylcellulose nanoparticles with mean sizes around 100 nm were obtained solvent evaporation showed positive values above +20 mV due presence cationic surfactant. successfully complexed folate, as evidenced both particle size measurements. HEPES buffered glucose solution excellent haemocompatibility, which make them promising parenteral therapeutic also those in easy access systemic circulation may occur, like lungs.
